Worth-The-Splurge Beauty Products

Worth The Splurge Beauty Products

We all have that one or few beauty products that we have to splurge on. I mean, generic and drug store brands are all good, but sometimes you just have to spend a little dough for the products you absolutely love. For instance, when it comes to oatmeal, I’m bougie. It has to be Quaker. I’ll pay the extra couple of dollars for this specific brand. Same goes for peanut butter. I’ll settle for an off brand, but JIF is bae forreal, forreal. Anyway, ya’ll get the picture. Let’s talk beauty!

Typically when it comes to buying beauty products I try to keep it frugal. Nothing beats finding the perfect product and it costs less than $8. (Thank you to lines like, NYX, Maybelline and Neutrogena!) However, every now and then I feel the need to splurge. If I happen to come across any of these products below, I find a way to justify the purchase because they are well worth the splurge.

Check out my ¬†favorite “worth-the-splurge” beauty products…

Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation ($40.00)

I love this foundation because not only does it’s full coverage formula make my skin look flawless & blemish-free with a natural finish, I never have to touch it up. It’s one of those “wear to work and go straight to happy hour” products. It’s a liquid, creamy foundation and a little goes a very long way. It’s great for anyone who wears foundation on a daily basis and has any dark or light spots they want to cover. You’ll pay $40.00 for it, but you will definitely get your money’s worth. It truly lasts for every minute of the 12-hours it promises. Tarte has recently stepped up their game as well and added more shades to the mix, so there are now 40 hues to chose from.

Cover FX Total Coverage Cream Foundation ($42.00)

Back when I had acne and dark spots I struggled with finding a foundation that could cover my spots while not causing more breakouts. It took some trial and error and tons of dollars spent, but I finally found a foundation that was everything and more. Not only does this foundation cover the darkest, harshest blemishes without having to cake it on, it also provides your skin with Vitamins E & C which help fight off acne causing bacteria and reduces the appearance of blemishes over all. It’s a $40.00 foundation, but don’t fret, you’re getting way more than just a foundation with this product.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer ($30.00)

Perfect for under-eye coverage and dark spots. Seriously, my all time favorite under-eye concealer. This concealer does it all. You’ll get the perfect coverage that is buildable minus the caking and creasing. And, you can skip the step of having to color correct before applying. Not only do they provide the perfect coverage, they are also formulated to color correct. With my previous concealers, I would use a color corrector first to cover up the redness under my eyes, but that’s not even necessary with this concealer. Have issues with your concealers creasing? Sometimes thats inevitable, but you’ll definitely notice little to no creasing with this one. With over 20 shades to chose from, I’m sure you’ll find the perfect shade. Quick tip: To use as a under-eye concealer or highlight, grab a shade that is 1-2 shades lighter than your foundation.

It’s A 10 Hair Serum ($25.00)

If you’ve ever saw this product in the store and wondered why it’s called “It’s a 10”, it’s because there are literally 10 benefits for using this serum. My two favorites are – controls frizz and humidity proof. Whether I wear my hair natural curly, twists, rodded or straight, this product never disappoints. All you need is a drop (aka dime size…you know how we do) and massage it in your hair pre or post style and you’re good to go! This serum is a little on the pricey side at about $25 for a 4oz container, but it’s worth every penny.

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer ($54.00 – $75.00)

Seriously, this is charmeuse silk in a bottle. This primer will leave your skin so soft, you won’t even want to put foundation over it. It makes my skin super soft and smooth, making my foundation glide on like butter while reducing the appearance of my not-so-small pores on my cheeks and fine lines around my eyes. It’s oil-free, so is great for oily skin types and it even provides sun protection. Hourglass Veil Primer is one of my all-time favorite beauty products, and is definitely worth-the-splurge.

Mario Badescu Vitamin C Serum ($45.00)

Ahhhh! The power of Vitamin C. This serum is amazing and my skin absolutely loves it. Yes, you’ll pay $45 for this tiny bottle, but It. Is. So. Worth. It. First of all, a little goes a long way. You only need to apply a couple of drops every other night, and you will wake up the next morning with your skin feeling softer than silk. This serum is full of antioxidants and will give you long-term skin benefits, such as minimizing wrinkles, brightening skin tone and diminishing dark spots.
