I’ve never been one to brag, but let me just say my skin has been ON POINT lately, and I’m not the only person who thinks so. Lately I’ve been getting hella compliments on my skin and I’ve been receiving them with all the humbleness, gratitude and confidence one could muster. Seriously though, I’ve worked hard for this skin, well actually not too hard, but it has been a long journey. Some of y’all have been following my blog long enough to know my skin hasn’t always been this perfect (yup, I said perfect LOL). I’ve suffered from acne and hyperpigmentation due to acne for the majority of my adult life and I’ve finally got some consistent control over it.
Regardless of what products I use my skin care routine for the past couple of years has been super simple. I typically follow a basic 3-step process – 1.) cleanse 2.) tone/treat 3.) hydrate. I do add in serums, masks, and other creams as I need them, but no matter what the “3-step” process is consistent.
Here are 3 other things I’ve consistently done to keep my skin worthy of the compliments…
1. I drink at least 60 ounces of water per day. A lot of people say it’s hard to get their water in each day, but it can be easy as long as it’s accessible. Get a cute water bottle and carry it with you everywhere you go and when you’re thirsty go for a glass of water instead of juice or soda. Also, keep a glass of water by your bedside at night, so first thing in the morning you can gulp down some water and get at least 8 ounces in you before you even get out of bed. Genius!
2. I take Isotonix Beauty Blend supplements everyday. These supplements are so easy because all you have to do is mix with 8 ounces of WATER and drink (there you go another 8 ounces of water for you). And it tastes soooo good, so if you’re craving something sweet it’ll do the trick. But don’t worry there aren’t any artificial sugars in it. These supplements have almost every vitamin and nutrient your body needs PLUS an added bonus of hyaluronic acid and collagen, which promote hydration and anti-aging. Since I’ve been taking it daily I’ve had less breakouts, even when it’s that time of the month, and if I do get a little pimple it comes and goes as if it was never even there.
3. I workout at least 4 days a week. I can’t stand the saying “gym rat” but let’s face it, I’m a GYM RAT. Since I’ve been sweating it out on a regular my skin has been able to release toxins more frequently. A lot of people think sweating causes breakouts, but sweating is actually a form of detox and is really good for your skin. The breakouts occur when you workout with makeup on, touch your face after touching gym equipment, or not washing your face after your workout.
Ultimately, the goal is to be consistent. Whatever it is that you’re doing for your skin, you must make sure that you’re doing it on a daily basis. Just like anything else – losing weight, learning a new technique, building that booty – it takes CONSISTENT work.
