I’m a total advocate for the 3-step skin care routine. I preach it to my clients all day long, so when I started talking about adding a serum into the mix and throwing in an extra step I straight up got the side eye…multiple side eyes. But hey, what’s another step? Especially if it means your skin will be even more glowing and even more healthier. So, right before you apply your moisturizer take like 3 more seconds and add one of these skin serums to your freshly washed and toned skin.
Is it obvious yet that Mario Badescu is bae? After being a groupie for this line for the past 5+ years I’m almost at the point where I have used every single product in the line and there are a lot of products. So, clearly I have my faves. Mario was there for me when I was going through my annoying adult acne stage and ever since I just can’t turn away. I recently started using this acne serum to help keep my acne from creeping back into my life like an ex boo trying to come back simply because the weather is changing. Nope! I’m not having it. Unlike other salicylic acid treatments I have used, this one doesn’t over-dry my skin. In fact, it actually leaves my skin feeling hydrated.
I use this serum on my facial clients of all skin types. Vitamin C helps reduce the appearance of dark spots and helps brighten your skin tone all together. Now, add some green tea to the mix and you have a product that not only produces soft and radiant skin, but skin that is also fighting to decrease the amount of bacteria in your skin and repairing any current issues it may. “So wait, you cute AND you do laundry?” LOL! Seriously this serum does it all. You may have to shop around for this one because it’s only sold in spas or contact your local esthetician (me) to see if they retail it (I do). If you can’t find it, of course I have an alternate. Try Mario Badescu’s Vitamin C Serum ($45).
Farsali Rose Gold Elixer ($54)
I seriously bought this serum on a whim as I was scrolling through Instagram on night. It was one of those nights where I couldn’t sleep, which led me to impulse shop while scrolling. Either way, I am not disappointed. This 24k gold infused serum is light enough to use in addition to your moisturizer, yet moisturizing enough to use alone. I’m a stickler for any product that can be used in multiple ways and this can be used as a serum, moisturizer, primer, and it even works to revive dried up makeup. For instance, I used a drop of this in my Anastasia Brow Pomade and WaLa! It was like new all over again. And, no worries if you have sensitive or acne prone skin because it’s made with rose hip oil and is packed with Vitamins C & A. Plus, it’s non-comedogenic and fragrance- free.
I’ve been using Lumiére de Vie’s facial cleanser and toner, so I already literally felt good about this product line, but I recently tried the serum concentrate and talk about a dramatic difference. My skin felt like silk afterwards. My pores were non-existent instantly and with continued use it’ll reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I even used it as a primer before applying my foundation and it had my skin looking flawless all day long. I’ve even noticed that since I started using it I break out less frequently and when I do there is no scar left behind.
Now this serum makes me miss my beauty counter days at Bloomingdales. I worked right across from the SK-II counter and got real cool with the manager, so guess who was getting complimentary SK-II?! Although, on the pricier side (at least for me) it is an amazing product and totally worth the price. I love that it’s fragrance-free and truly made with organic acids, vitamins, minerals, and other super ingredients. This stuff should really be called Unicorn. It’s that special. It’ll have your skin looking and feeling renewed and vibrant.
After reading this I hope you’re even more excited to go grab a new serum. These serums can easily be included with your current skin care regimen. And no, all your products do not have to match. I mismatch brands all the time. You just have to make sure all the products you’re using are equivalent to your skin’s needs.
Thanks for reading!
