I don’t care where you live or what color you are, no one and I repeat NO ONE wants to walk around with crusty, dusty, dry lips. I know I for one am not a fan of cracked, dry lips. It’s seriously hard for me to have a conversation with someone who has dry lips nor can I have a conversation with someone knowing good and well my lips are dry. So, I got us all covered. In this blog I’m going to share a few of my favorite lip products to aide in the comfort and hydration of your precious soup coolers.
Dry lips are common during the winter due to the cold air and during the summer because of the sun. Did you know that your lips are 100 times more sensitive than even your finger tips and that they get dry quickly because they do not have oil glands? Hmmm… food for thought, right. This is probably why most people find themselves self lubricating their dry lips by licking them (constantly). And although we think we’re doing our dry lips justice by licking them, we are actually making them worse. Licking your lips can actually make dry lips even drier due to the bacteria in our saliva. The best way to moisten your dry lips is to a) drink tons of water and b) use a good lip balm.
Got dry lips? Here are 4 lip products that I recommend to help solve the problem…
This water-based, vegan lip elixir is made with peppermint oil, avocado oil and hyaluronic acid – the perfect trifecta for moisture. Not only does it relieve chapped, dry lips, it also plumps and smooths creating naturally full lips, so no more weird lip plumping devices, people. I’ve been using this for about a week now, day and night, and my lips already feel softer and smoother. I apply it day and night as a part of my daily skincare routine. You’ll feel a little tingle after you apply it, and that’s just all the oils working their magic. It also works as a great lip primer to use before applying lipsticks and the all so popular matte lip stains that tend cause dry lips.
Motives Cosmetics 40FY Lip Treatment
This lip treatment helps smooth, plump and hydrate your lips. It’s made with peptides to help produce collagen for plump and more fuller lips. You’ll also feel the magic tingle as soon you apply it. Made with castor oil and wax, while it’s plumping and firming your lips it is also hydrating them. It works great as a lip primer to soften and smooth the lips making them ready for your favorite lip color. I use this on all my clients before I apply any lip product on them.
These amazing Lip Oils do more than just moisturize your dry lips, they nourish and wear like a lip gloss. When I saw the natural ingredients they were made with I just couldn’t help myself. Can you say, coconut oil, prickly pear seed oil, chia seed oil, cloudberry oil and green tea extract? Yup, all in one little cute pin. All of these ingredients help smooth, hydrate and restore your lips. They even have a hint of color, so you can apply, go and skip the lipstick. This is perfect for the summer!

I have a personal testimony for this one. A long time ago my lips started turning colors and dark, dry patches began to form on my lips and no matter what they would not go away. I tried damn near every lip balm and chapstick known to (wo)mankind, and none of them worked. That is till I started using Burts Bee lip balm. This chapstick had my lips in full blown recovering mode in a matter of hours. Now, every time my lips get chapped I reach for my Burts Bee. No matter what, I always have a stick of it on me. I keep one in my purse, my makeup kit, my gym bag and in my car. They are made with natural ingredients and peppermint oil is one of them. My favorite “flavors” are Vanilla Bean and Pomegranate.
There you have it. My 4 go-to lip balms to help my lips stay smooth and sexy regardless of the season. And here’s a quick tip… Apply any of these lip products on top of the YASOU Lip Elixir for added moisture and plumpness. Did I miss anything?
