3 Simple Holiday Makeup Looks (Plus Bonus Video)

Three Simple Holiday Makeup Looks

Heyyy! The holidays are among us, and I have a few fun and simple holiday makeup looks that you can wear to your next holiday party or family dinner.

One of my favorite things about the holiday season is getting all dolled up and pretty (outside of my daily ponytail & workout clothes I mean) and going to a holiday party. If you’re anything like me, you’ve been waiting all year long to finally bust out that sparkling dress, those heels that kill your toes, but look so freakin’ amazing on you, and to finally rock your holiday party makeup looks. Those shimmery eyeshadows that have just been waiting for your makeup brush to slide through on them are ready & waiting. It’s. That. Time.

Here are 3 Simple Holiday Party Makeup Looks You Can Wear To Your Next Event…

The Bold Red Lip and Gold Eyeshadow Look is probably one of the most common and festive holiday party makeup looks. Apply your favorite red lipstick – here I’m wearing NYX Liquid Suede in “Cherry Skies”; Then accent it with some gold eyeshadow, and of course don’t forget to add even more glow with a highlighting powder.

Bonus Tip: Use the same gold eyeshadow as your highlighter.

The Bold Lash and Gold Lip Look is a bit simpler. It’s a fun look for anyone who tends to shy away from a bold lip color, like red. Apply a gold lipstick like the 24K Motives for LaLa lipstick then create a little drama with your lashes. If you’re comfortable applying fake lashes, then go for it. If not, try a dramatic mascara like Sephora’s LashCraft Big Volume Mascara.

Bonus Tip: Don’t have a gold lipstick? Mix a little gold eyeshadow or highlighter in with a clear lipgloss and Voila!

The Smokey Eye and Nude Lip Look is my personal favorite. It takes a little more time and effort, but it’s well worth it. A smokey eye can be intimidating, but you can get it done by simply taking a dark eyeshadow color, such as black, brown, blue, purple, or plum (really the choices are endless) and applying to your lid with a flat eyeshadow brush, then take a blending brush and blend the shadow up to your crease. Blend it out with a lighter shade of eyeshadow or a neutral color that closely matches your skin tone. See, easy peasy. What? You need me to show you?
